One long, disquiting, yet inviting experimental track combining some of the most ethereally serene aspects of 'A Blessed Unrest' and fusing it with measured post-classical cacophony and ebbing / flowing crumbling sonic soundscapes. Sometimes it sounds like mid period Diamanda Galas music without any of the operatic singing, which is a weird comparison, but apt. Another stellar release, perfect for my toasty beanie and headphones on my long Minneapolis winter walks

Uneasy listening for Allhallowtide, 2016.
A sound collage assembled from countless sources spanning 40 years, most notably The Parlour Trick's soundtrack for the full length feature "Empty Rooms", field recordings, and some decaying cassettes from the late 70s.
Trigger warnings galore!

I saw what was coming, and I was terrified. So I made a sound collage to rescue parts of myself which had been buried alive all my life. I screamed in the face of what I feared most. Sometimes, that's all you can do. Scream, grieve, gather your wits, and collect yourself for the fight to come.
"No one can pull anyone back from anywhere.
You save yourself or you remain unsaved."

Cello is such a wonderful instrument--deep and rich and versatile, and such range. But outside of Kronos Quartet and Joan Jeanrenaud's solo work, I was having trouble finding contemporary cello work that really thrilled me. Keating's music is ambient, haunting and complex. Well, well WELL worth your time! Richard Weems
